Reconfiguration Updates for the 2026-2027 school year.
The SMUSD VEX IQ teams traveled to Mesa on Saturday for their last tournament of the regular season. All three teams had a great day with WWES moving into the 5th place spot in the AZ robot skills ranking, DSES moved into 11th place, and TES ended up winning 2nd place in the tournament. All three teams have received an invite to the AZ State Finals for the first time in SMUSD Robotics history. Congrats to all three teams and their coaches.

We’re excited to partner with the Arizona Diamondbacks to encourage great attendance in February! ⚾ Students will track their own attendance daily in class on the calendar provided to them, and those with ideal attendance (no more than two absences) will earn a certificate and qualify for one complimentary D-backs ticket to a home game from March–June, with the purchase of a discounted adult ticket. Students began tracking their attendance today, and we appreciate your continued support in helping them be present and ready to learn each day. We’re looking forward to a fun and motivating month ahead! ⚾️
DSES student earns 2nd place in the district spelling bee in January! Over 30 students within the district in grades 4-8 participated in the spelling bee last week. Isaiah represented DSES by bringing home the 2nd place trophy. Congratulations Isaiah and all contestants!
